It depends on what are you willing to install on it, I'm a fan of cPanel specially for Linux servers but for Ruby on Rails and subversion mainly I faced few difficulties as cPanel work an earlier version of Apache while Plesk support Apache2 so I moved to Plesk for my VPS and still using cPanel on the shared host account.

Dare I say that I prefer the command line?
I don't feel enough in control with either. I have a slight preference for plesk, plus it is visually more pleasing.
