Not that you could really take advantage of the resolution of a quad HDTV today, but just in case you want to run a video game in 8.3 megapixel resolution – four times what current 1080p TVs offer - on a 56” display, Sapphire will be the second company we know of that is actually selling such a display. The bragging rights of owning such a TV come at a hefty price, of course.
As much as men hate to hear this, the human fetal blueprint is initially female. We all begin as a ball of cells that quickly differentiates into various body parts. At five weeks of gestation, the fetus sports a neural tube that eventually becomes the spine, but other than that, we all look like a wad of chewing gum. Then at six weeks' gestation, the outlines of eyes, arms, legs and a face (and let's not mention the tail that also shows up for a while) appear.
A similar tipster tonight has very generously given us these pics of the iPhone 2, or iPhone 3G as some are calling it. Like the Fat Nano from last summer, the images come from Apple or AT&T promotional material that shows not just the new iPhone, but also gives away a couple secrets.
I think that sometimes people think I'm into complexity for its own sake, but that's really not true. If you see me delving into complexity, it's only when I'm after the simplicity that sometimes lies on the far side. Sometimes, the differences in things that a program needs to do can mask their underlying secret symmetry, and if you can tease that symmetry out into the open, you can improve the design by simplifying it on both the inside and the outside. The most innovative software products are often not those that merely add new features, but those that discover a new way to approach a problem: one that makes it simpler, such that fewer features are needed in the first place.

Very rarely does a company seal their own fate with a product release. Usually another company comes out with something 10 magnitudes greater and the company can't keep up, but Palm has seriously started to hammer the nails into their coffin.
Of course this could be the greatest hit in the business world. You never know how those people think.

This discussion makes me feel like I don't push the boundaries with blogging software. Am I the only one that uses a blog to blog? WP does that pretty well and I don't see the admin interface that much since I use MarsEdit.
