» iPhone: A Review of iPhone Mail  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by RightOn.

if you use gmail, all of your sent messages pop into your inbox as new messages, so you have to delete everything you send. That is pissing me off.

Turn OFF "Always BCC Myself" in System > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

I use my Mail daily and never get copied in my inbox on sent mail from my Gmail account.

» Apple hints at lower prices as iPod, notebook refresh on tap  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by Scrivs.

Apple Computers are used far and wide in the film and design industries... but their selections of graphics processors in their laptops are really lacking.

It's easy to self-upgrade a graphics card on your Mac Pro so that's not too much of a worry... but try to do it on your MacBook Pro.

» Dinosaur Goes On Rampage of Learning And Enlightenment  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by Scrivs.

Holy hell! I would have KILLED for that when I was a kid... I LOVED Dinosaurs.

I was the kid who was at the museum every week telling all the other little kids about the skeletons, what each Dinosaur ate, etc.

Posting takes half a second to complete with Gears turned on, compared to 15-20 before. NICE.

» WordPress 2.6 Available  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by JoeLencioni.

yeah I enabled Gears at home and it's a lot faster than when I load up the blog from work.

» WordPress 2.6 Available  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by JoeLencioni.

LOL, I'm amazed that you have a mom that knows HOW to upgrade her WP install.

My dad IM's me and says "hey, it's telling me there's a new version... get hoppin."

» WordPress 2.6 Available  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by JoeLencioni.

Smooth as Glass was all I could come up with that didn't sound nasty. :)

My dad used to have a gun lubricant called STOS that he called "Slicker Than Owl Shit"... I could have said that ;)

» WordPress 2.6 Available  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by JoeLencioni.

I've upgraded 90% of my sites to 2.6 about an hour ago... SMOOTH AS GLASS.

Nice upgrade!

» What screen saver are you using?  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by RightOn.

I have my screen set to dim 50% after an hour and turn off completely after 2 hours.

I like to see if anything is popping up on my screen and dim is better than nothing.

» Apple's App Store Offerings Still Have A Long Way To Go  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by Ozone42.

I've heard a lot of people complaining about the sheer volume of crap apps in the AppStore but I have to say, I've found plenty to keep me entertained and organized on my iPod Touch.

Yeah there's crap in there I would never use but that's just it, I may think it's crap but someone out there will enjoy it.

If I filtered out all the stuff I didn't like, it would be completely lame to someone else.

dah dah dah daah daaaaah, I'm lovin' it.

Ryan Arrowsmith and I at the iPhone 3G Launch in Tulsa...

Ryan snapped the photos, I left my camera @ home. (see if you can spot me)

» PHOTOS: crazy iPhone queues  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by RightOn.

If you are having issues activating your 3G iPhone, CALL AT&T... should fix you all up.

» PHOTOS: crazy iPhone queues  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by RightOn.

As soon as Ryan gets his pictures downloaded from his camera I'll post some here :)

Was WAY too early and I forgot my Camera.

Scrivs... thanks :P

» PHOTOS: crazy iPhone queues  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by RightOn.

Tyme, I didn't get one... I was just there to hang out. :)

» PHOTOS: crazy iPhone queues  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by RightOn.

Ryan Arrowsmith and I were 7 people from the front of the line here in Tulsa... it was a blast!

We showed up at the mall @ 2:45AM, sat outside until 6 and then stood in front of the Apple store until 8.

It's not needed to see the App Store, but if you want to upgrade to 2.0 you will...

» iTunes 7.7 Is Live, Browse The App Store  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by publicenergy.

The hours are creeping by making Thursday the longest day of my LIFE!

I have my money ready... and waiting for the iPod Touch 2.0 upgrade and Super Monkey Ball.

Come on Apple, let the cat out of the bag a day early... PWEEEEEZE!

» Spat with Rogers leaves Canadian Apple stores without iPhones  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by Oli.

yeah I could live with 75 text messages but 150 min... yeah that's like ONE phone call for me, not to mention I'd burn through 400MB in about 10 seconds. I'm ALWAYS surfing on my iPod Touch.

» Spat with Rogers leaves Canadian Apple stores without iPhones  ...  Last Reply: 4 months ago by Oli.

Well that's just retarded... but obviously Apple has some control by slashing the line from the Retailer.

» iPod Touch 2G in September?  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by Scrivs.

On a side note for us current iPod Touch owners... what's with the insane amount of complaints on other websites about the $10 charge for 2.0?

I've seen comments like "Not everyone can afford this upgrade" and "I cannot believe how insanely priced 2.0 is"... I know the economy is slumpy for people but is $10 that hard to come by? I have that much in my wallet right now, why is that an insane price?

» iPod Touch 2G in September?  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by Scrivs.

I could see a redesign to match the Case change on the 3G... and a price adjustment. ($500 for a top of the line iPod is INSANE)

» iPod Touch 2G in September?  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by Scrivs.

Exactly, everything I would like on my iPod Touch (next/previous track buttons, camera) I can get by buying an iPhone. Putting them on the iPod would confuse product identity.

I wonder though... since AT&T is allowing users to turn their EDGE iPhones into iPods by killing the phone feature when you upgrade to the 3G, if sales of disabled iPhones will ramp up on ebay...

» iPod Touch 2G in September?  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by Scrivs.

I'm not sure WHAT they would do other than up the capacity... adding anything the iPhone has hardware wise would kill some sales for the iPhone.

» How Twitter could be worth nothing in a year  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by Ozone42.

That was my point... a viable alternative. Twitter may be crap, but everyone I follow is using Twitter.

There are a handful of really nice looking alternatives, but then I can't follow the people I am.

» How Twitter could be worth nothing in a year  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by Ozone42.

I just with there was a viable alternative... I go to open up Twitter and I ALWAYS see that stupid ! symbol and can't post crap.

» Keep Your Original iPhone As A WiFi-Enabled iPod  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by Oli.

Honestly, that would actually MAKE me want the plan more... I can't stand SMS.

Odd that they would do that, when the iPhone ships stock with an SMS app.

» Keep Your Original iPhone As A WiFi-Enabled iPod  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by Oli.

I would love an iPhone minus the phone... I want the Camera on my iPod. :)

» An iPhone with a keyboard?  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by ryanarrowsmith.

I think it's the other way around Scrivs... Apple's keyboard is dynamic to the application in use, if I'm emailing something the @ key is readily available, if I'm surfing I have a .com key. BTW here we are @ 2.0 on Apple's iPhone and we still can't hold down the .com key and get a pull out for .net and .org???

If I was on a device with a hard keypad, I have to adapt the use of the application to the restrictions of the device, the reverse is more logical (adapt the device to the application)..

» An iPhone with a keyboard?  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by ryanarrowsmith.

I don't see it happening as almost everyone has a prototype or marketed phone model out now with on screen controls and keys.

It would be nice if you had a bluetooth keyboard, if there was a way to interface to it from the phone. The apple ones are so small, they fit in my laptop bag and I think it would be super cool to whip it out and send a long email from my iPod in the park.

» Conservatives are more happy than Liberals  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by jensized.

By what method did you formulate the rich people are happier.

I know several people who make 6 figure incomes and are ALWAYS complaining about how miserable they are and I know people who don't have a care in the world and struggle to pay their utility bills from time to time.

» Search function not working in Outlook 2007  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by publicenergy.

Yeah there was some search thing it wanted me to download but I left it out because it said it couldn't install... maybe upgrading to SP3 would fix that.

I'm running Thunderbird right now to see if it's my sever that's causing the problems as Outlook couldn't keep a connection to the IMAP server.

Search function not working in Outlook 2007

Software Community — Posted: Jun. 25, 2008  ...   Last By: publicenergy @ 5 months ago

I upgraded Office on my work PC to 2007 Enterprise and now I cannot search emails in Outlook.

I have some 5000 emails in one account over IMAP... I let Outlook go through all of them and index them all last night and when I got in this morning Search turns up nothing.

We email information every night with confirmation numbers in the body of the emails. Before I upgraded to 2007 I was using Outlook Express and if I did a search for a specific confirmation number in the body of the email it would take a little while to search but it would pull up all the emails I was searching for.

Now when I search the body for the confirmation number, even if I KNOW the email exists, it comes back with "Your search turned up 0 messages".

Is there something I may be doing wrong?

» Developers Bailing on Twitter  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by rileycentral.

I think Scrivs pretty much nailed it. If anything kills Twitter it will be it's complete lack of stability.

I'd say more than half the time I open up Twitter to post something it's not working. This NEEDS to be fixed or people will find a stable alternative.

» Developers Bailing on Twitter  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by rileycentral.

I too never really "got twitter" but now that I made myself use it I have Twitterific open on my iBook 24/7 and Twitter has its own space on my iPod Touch Dock.

I'm not addicted but it's fun knowing what your friends are up to and letting them know what you're doing without having to pin them down for a conversation.

If you have the time to post a note here you have more than enough time to twitter... 140 chars max, it should be a breeze.

Try it for a week or two, make yourself update and see if you like it.

» Conservatives are more happy than Liberals  ...  Last Reply: 5 months ago by jensized.

All of my solidly liberal friends are well off financially and tend to be VERY grumpy, but I don't know if that stems from their money or their liberalism or whatever.

I'd say I'm pretty happy. Obviously hard times don't make you happy all the time but I'm not a pessimist.
