Privacy has gone, may as well forget about it. Whatever you do some one somewhere knows and it has probably been recorded. Maybe it is time to swing the other way and emphasize transparency. We would probably get a more honest society. Maybe even honest politicians, but that might be asking to much.

I know someone is going to say - why should everyone know about some silly mistake I made in my youth. But lets face it, we all made silly mistakes when we were young and if we all knew each others it would be no big deal.

Bring on the online/offline blur. That's what I think.

You are so right. A couple of years ago I saw an ad for a globe that you plugged into the mains power. The idea was that you had it sitting in your living room and if a certain stockmarket stock went up it got redder and if it went down it got bluer. Did not have to be a stock, could be any parameter you set via an internet connection. Only worked in US.
I thought wow this is the start of something huge. But as you say, no progress. Not sure what is stopping the sort of thing you are suggesting.

html-kit. It is free, has great plugins, a good preview function, is easy to modify, edit mode checks your coding but does not change it without your permission and joy of joy no WYSIWYG editor to mangle your code.
