Hi all,
So here is my predicament.
I have Windows XP Pro on 2 machines, a desktop and a laptop.
The desktop is my home machine and runs on a workgroup.
My laptop is my work machine that I transport everyday between work and home, and it is on a domain.
I am having problems setting file sharing permissions on specific drives/directories that the computers can both access.
The ONLY time these directories become accessibile is if I choose the default "EVERYONE" permissions options.
Here is my question.
If on my Desktop I have the E: drive and I share it, and go to set permissions, at no point can I choose my laptop (CORPORATE\bryan) as a possible machine addition. It only lists items associated with my WORKGROUP. Again, the laptop uses a DOMAIN.
I would prefer to specifically choose the machines that have access to my shares versus the default EVERYONE.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan

Ok thanks.
So in summary, if 2 computers are on differents paths (workgroup vs domain), there is no way to give specific permissions to xyz computer, hence leaving it to EVERYONE IS THE Only way?
