Macbook users, does the built-in mic sound OK (no static or hiss) for the occasional podcast?
Or is a USB mic necessary?
Thanks!

Er, uhm, I just noticed this is posted in the "Entertainment" category.
Scrivs & co: feel free to move it to "Technology" -- thanks!

Personally I use a Sony ECMMS907 Digital Recording Microphone (They run from $75-100 on eBay/Amazon) through a Griffin iMic system and it sounds damned near as professional as you can get without dropping some monster dough.
I honestly don't know why they put internal Mic's in things like the MacBook... they REALLY suck.

I'm glad macbooks have internal mics, but yeah, they stink. They're good for utility, skype, video conferencing. They're just not for anything professional.

I tried recording a podcast from my iBooks internal about 3 days ago and it sounded... well lets just say "HORRIBLE" is a nice word for it.
If you're going to do ANYTHING remotely serious, get a Mic! :)
