I know there are many apps out there that help one stay organized and I'm really not sure which one to start using. I heard OmniFocus is real good but I know there is more out there.

Currently I'm just using the notes and to-do's in Mac Mail 3.0. What do you use to stay organized on your mac?

I use Backpack <http://www.backpackit.com> allot. For my personal notes/todos, but also to prepare for vacation and small projects. Great advantage of sharing pages with other people.
A 'local client' I used a while ago was Yojimbo <http://www.barebones.com/products/yojimbo/>, great organiser. Don't think it has todo's, though.

I stay organized by being distinctly disorganized. Utter chaos seems to be far more organized that true organization is. Or so I keep telling myself anyways!

I'm using iGTD, but I haven't gotten to the point where I'm terribly efficient yet. This is due to having a huge backlog of longer term projects. GTD is better when you break things down into very discrete steps.

It's sad, but I have to get more organized before I can get more organized.

I don't, because I never became organized.

So you're telling us you're running Leopard then, huh? Tiger Mail is 2.1.1 and the only "notes" are attached to events or tasks in iCal.

iCal is said to be getting a re-write in 10.5, and it's perhaps the thing I'm most interested in (I depend on it, and sync to Palm). So what are your impressions of iCal in Leopard then? Tasks are removed, right, now managed via Mail?

In answer to my own question, just watched the Leopard Guided Tour which says tasks (to-dos) are sync'd btw Mail and iCal. Cool.

I lol'd... why ? Its the same thing i wanted to say, I'm going to post a picture of my computer room, but anyone could actually loose himself in this chaos.
Anyway back to the topic.

I don't think there is a way to get organized more or less, I have a good memory it if comes to items and where i placed them. if it comes to phone-numbers and names I am a complete mess, I used to store everthing in my phone, persons # , adress the whole thing. btw if you are to organized it's easier to get fired, because someone else could takeover your job easily, if it is a mess your boss won't fire you knowing it would take weeks to figure out what you where working on ^-^ thats my theory .
