I love the Nano because i can add the radio extra, but i love the touch because of it's great screen, and graphics, and wi-fi...
Some questions..
Can i watch .avi videos on both models?
What would you suggest?
I'd like to buy it next week but i really can't decide!

Are you on a Mac? If so and .avi videos are a problem, you can simply use iSquint to convert them.
If you are planning on watching a lot of video? I'd go with the iPod Touch. You will love the widescreen display. Also, you get far more functionality and a lot of features that you won't get on any other iPod, duh. Anyways, it is a tough decision, don't just act. Take your time, they aren't going anywhere.

What sort of avi videos are a problem? There's a lot of codecs that run around with .avi as their extension, but for the most part I've been able to play everything I find.

Just thought I'd put in that my friend bought the black 8GB Nano, and they are absolutely beautiful. They look kind of ugly in photos and stuff, but it is truly a pretty piece of equipment.

Yeah I saw them when Steve debuted the Nano's and thought... UGLY!
I've since seen one in person and I have to say, they're NICE!

They do look a lot better in person, but I thought they were cute even in the photo.
I know cute's not what you men are seeking in your electronics purchases though :)

I'm replying to this on my iPod touch. I wasn't sure whether I would like this thing or not but having used it all day I can honestly say I think I'm in love with it.
I'm not a fan of the new nano, so I'm happy I have the previous generation. Fat thing is not for me.
The widescreen video playback is awesome on the touch. There's just a lot of fun to be had with the touch!
Anyway, my vote is for the touch... I love it so much!

I want one too but I don't have the extra bucks to toss @ the 16GB version which I WANT.
It could replace my PalmOS device if I could find a way to keep my bank register on the iPod Touch.

I thought the new iPod nano was ugly as hell when it was first unveiled but it does actually look pretty nice in person. The lack of capacity on the touch is quite disappointing and it can't be used as a portable drive but I'd go for it purely because of the widescreen. Videos will look great on it! And I'm not too convinced by the new UI in the other iPods.

Oh and I had to order my iPod touch online, the estimated delivery is the end of the month :( I can't get my hands on one at the Apple Store here in London, new stocks sell out within hours of arriving o_O

@steffanwilliams : You quite convinced me!
Have you "tested" the touch with different wireless access points?
I have one at home (a Digicom Office Wave C) and for example my Nintendo Ds is not supported.
Estimated delivery in Italy for iPod Touch is 7-10 days (8gb version)

Found a nice review on MacGuide, if someone else has doubt as I do :)

I like to buy cute, or at least attractive, gadgets. And I'm not ashamed to admit that.

I quite decided for the Touch, even though i'm really disappointed i can't take notes with it.
I'm going to buy the 8 gb because i think 100 € for 8 gb more is too much of a difference.

I was originally going to get a Touch, but then after my aforementioned friend bought the Nano, I was sort of leaning towards that. You can't run with a Touch, or at least I wouldn't feel comfortable for some reason.
I'm thinking more along the lines of the 80Gb Classic, but there's always room to crumble and go for the Touch :P

I wouldn't mind a Touch. There's definitely some slack on the storage as I'd love to pack it with all my videos, audio and pictures and still be able to surf the web etc...but at that price, I dunno. Although I payed more for a Palm M505 back in the day when it came out, so I guess I'll see around Xmas.

The problem I'm having is the 8GB thing. I can't afford to shell out for the 16GB at the moment, so this makes the Classic look good. I only have 6.5GB of music with a heavily restrained iTunes library, but I'd definitely add podcasts and stuff to it.
In other news, I think they modified the iPod headphones. They're much better now (sounding). They actually have bass!

The storage is for sure a problem...
But I think 8 gb could be enough for me.
Before I had a 20 gb, iPod 1st generation, and it was too much for me, so buying an 80 gb iPod classic it's too much.

Yeah, the iPod Touch is wicked cool, but I am hamstrung by the storage issue. I'm actually considering the 160 GB Classic, because I already had to move my music to an external HD -- it doesn't fit on my laptop hard drive anymore! (I'm much less restrained in my iTunes purchasing than ConnorWilson, it seems...) I'm afraid that if I got the Touch, I would only load movies or videos on it, and still would have to drag around an additional piece of equipment for the rest of my music library.
Then again, I'm also thankful I have these problems... :-)

What makes me really happy about the touch is the screen.
I use a lot of podcasts, larger part of them are video podcasts, and i think the nano, but also the classic screen would be a lot more different ;)
If i'll take the touch, for sure i'll have to make a selection of music to add on it, 'cause of the storage, and that's why i think i'm going to wait and maybe buy the 16 gb.
That's the last dounbt I have: is it worth to spend a 100 € for more 8 gb?

Doubt: I was on the store online, to see if estimated time for delivery still was 7-10 days, and then i saw suggested things for people who bought iPod Touch: there was the radio remote!
They say you can't use this extra with ipod touch so.. Is it true?
