So I have this huge dilemnia on my hands.

I want to switch to AT&T to get the iphone. Right now, I am currently in a contract with verizon for another 11 months. Is it worth it cancel with VZW and pay the cancellation fees? Is there a way to get around it ? :)

Also another bad part is a lot of my friends and family is on VZW and it helps with the 'in' calling (free mobile to mobile).

Any ideas/thoughts is greatly appreciated! :)

Is it also true that AT&T has the rights for the iphone for 6 years?

Do you think you will be happy with the iPhone 12 months into your 24month contract when everybody on the internet is claiming the iPhone2 is the best thing in the world and they're saying the iPhone3 is even better?

Getting into long phone contracts sucks big balls.

Aside from what Oli already mentioned, you just need to figure out how much value the iPhone will be worth to you. Dropping $175 for a cancellation fee sucks, and that's a lot of money just to get out of contract, and that is before you pay $500+ for the iPhone along with whatever plan you get.

And last I heard, I thought AT&T had 3 years exclusive rights to the iPhone, but don't quote me on that.

I'd wait 11 months and get the cool, next-generation iPhone that is bound to be coming out by then. And if you really want to get your fix, you can wait a month or two for the (supposed) iPod Touch that's going to be pretty similar to the iPhone and pickup one of those to get the Apple touch experience, at least to tide you over until your contact expires.

Not to change your mind or anything, but refurbished iPhones are now $100 off :)

The screen/interface of the iPhone without the phone would be awesome. All my Apple-hating aside, that really would be the best damned mp3/portable-movie player around.

Mike - Why in the world are u tempting me like that! hehe

I dunno what to do yet..im stilld debating all the facts up in the air! Thanks for all your thoughts/info on it! :)
