obviously the Apple iPhone is becoming THE MUST HAVE, so imagine you would have to trade, a precious object for an iPhone...
i wonder how far people would go for one...

Several precious green paper objects. It's a gadget: I'd love to have one but in no way need one.

If I really needed one I'd gladly give Apple my iBook :) It's 6 years old.

A few hours of my time in the form of a very long, detailed blog post.
Also, they can have half the fat in by body (preferably the visceral half), my debts, some belly button lint, and my tax burden.

How about a couple of mis-matched socks fresh from the laundry? I'll send the matching ones if the machine ever gives them back.
Honestly, the iPhone doesn't do much for me. The problem with mobile phones is that they allow anyone to get a hold of you at any time. I have issues with being that accessible and prefer that people leave me a message at home, skype me, e-mail me or send me a pigeon.

Nothing, zip, nada - not the current version, and probably not the one after that.
Have seen nothing but "It's great......but", "I wish it could ........" stuff posted these days :-)

Agreed! There seems to be quite a few people confusing needs with wants and a surprising number who do nothing more than lust after the latest/greatest consumer gadget. It's pretty sad.

Nothing. I have no desire for one.

I'm noticing a trend here... I have no desire for one either. I'd just give it straight back.

A tenner and a firm handshake. I don't really want this version because there are so many things that need a little fixing and tweaking before it's anywhere near "good"...
Then there's the price point... Far too high for a gadget like that.

Too bad I'm stuck in my contract until December 2008! :(
I want to be able to check my e-mail from the neighborhood pool.

If they offered one to me for free, I'd pay them to keep it. I usually keep cellular devices in my trouser pocket and the radiation being expelled from such an object couldn't be too healthy for the prostate.

At the risk of sounding fanboyish: My wallet and its contents (not much as of now), along with being Apple's part-time print design slave for a couple years.

I'd be willing to swap my Treo out for it.
