No posts on MacWorld yet? I'll have the honor of starting one then. Keynote should be hitting us soon, but I must admit I've been very lazy this year in monitoring rumors. Late last night I came across some insider info at Wired though:
An Apple insider told Wired today that the company's new ultraportable, expected to be seen in public for the first time tomorrow, has an extremely thin profile and is shaped like a teardrop when closed — thicker at the top behind the screen, tapering at the bottom behind the keyboard. "It's unbelievably thin," said the source. The device is made of aluminum and glass, and uses the same design language as recent Apple consumer products: black on silver. Sadly, we don’t have details on pricing, specs or availability. Expect reality to disagree with our photoshops. Is this cable-free design the face of things to come? Our own Charlie Sorrel pointed out earlier today that the rumor mill hints of a new MacBook utterly devoid of cables. However, he wouldn't speculate on its physical dimensions. But now we've got the, uh, skinny on what this new ultra slim, ultra portable actually looks like thanks to one source who says they saw this device in the wild. Steve Jobs is widely expected to reveal a new MacBook at Macworld on Tuesday morning, and with the rumored name being "MacBook Air."
Judging by the Apple.com frontpage slogan, "There's something in the air", it looks like this might be true. I remember a few notes and general interest here regarding good computers simply for writing and carrying around — this might be a solution.
Any 9rulers at MacWorld?

That sounds pretty cool. I've been following rumors here and there, but I haven't been totally up to date with them all. I'm highly intrigued about this cable-less stuff though.
Is the keynote going to be broadcast live on Apple's site?

I think there's a delay — the keynote's usually put online about an hour (?) after the show. But we can monitor it via live text reports. Here are some sites giving live coverage (found via Mahalo):
It starts around 5pm GMT.

What... a laptop powered by WiFi Juice? :)
I'll believe it when I see it but if Apple could pull off a wire free notebook FIRST, I think I'd die :)

I'm a Mac Rumors Live guy myself.
I know this isn't a developer conference but I'd really like some more details on the iPhone SDK :)

The only thing so far that has really got my undies in a wad is that Apple would charge current iPod Touch users $20 for something NEW users get for free and something that SHOULD have been on the damned thing from day 1.

If it doesn't require component connections on my TV I'd buy an AppleTV.

The new Apple TV NAS might be the tiny box I've been looking for to hook into my HD projector. :)

I haven't seen anything yet but MAN are my ears burning over this stupid $20 charge for the same stuff that's $0 on an iPhone.
I wasn't impressed by this keynote.

I guess I'm not so much impressed with the products so much as the unveiling of the Hollywood studios jumping on the iTunes movie rentals idea. You could see it coming but on the other hand, I'd have thought it would've taken a lot longer. From the industry standpoint, it's a way of cashing in before the technology catches up to/surpasses the "intellectual rights" idea (RIAA).

They're even putting "iTunes friendly copies" of movies on physical DVDs. From going through long, inconvenience to get a movie how you want it, we can now (will now) be able to simply slide a disc in and move the movie over.
We're really getting somewhere. And until Netflix gets their Watch It Now (which just went unlimited yesterday) service working on the mac, the iTunes Movie Rentals are going to be a dangerous thing. I have no problem dropping a couple bucks for a movie that I can port out to my projector.

I'm still annoyed and recovering from their lack of a 3G iPhone plan announcement for Europe.
